St Lawrence Pre-School is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status, run from a multi-purpose building, the pre-school uses the main hall, a small room and has access to a fully fitted kitchen and its own outdoor play area.
We offer education in a safe, caring and friendly environment by providing activities appropriate to children’s age and stage of development
We follow, like all registered childcare providers, The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, which is a child centred curriculum that children work through at their own level of development. We provide a balance of child-selected activities and adult-led learning both indoors and outdoors.
Our high ratio of adults to children, allows us to give each child individual attention and care. Children have a key person who will support them during their time at Pre-School.
We have a positive approach giving each child and their family equal opportunities, regardless of race, colour, ability, gender, sexual orientation or background.
We encourage social skills in caring and understanding towards others and the environment
We are a predominantly Christian Pre-School that has an awareness of and celebrates other faiths and festivals.

St Lawrence Pre-School is inspected by OFSTED (Office for standards in Education) A copy of their report is available on www.ofsted.gov.uk for anyone who wishes to read it. We were recently inspected and in our latest report, published December 2023, we received a ‘GOOD’ result.
