Meet the St. Lawrence Team…

All our Pre-School Assistants are trained holding NNEB, BTEC and NVQ level 3 or above. Many of them hold a relevant First Aid certificate and staff attend a variety of other courses including those on Equality, Safeguarding Children and their families, Additional Needs and Child Development to keep themselves up to date with new legislation and initiatives in order to provide the very best care and provision for the children.

All staff have an additional role such as Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO), Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Behaviour Management and  Outdoor Play Representatives, to ensure all key areas within our provision are continually monitored and improved.

All staff, volunteers and students over the age of 16, who work/volunteer within the setting have been DBS checked, and where required approved by Ofsted.

We operate a child to staff ratio, in line with Ofsted requirements, those ratio’s being:

  • One staff member for every 4 children aged under 3 years
  • One staff member for every 8 children aged over 3 years
